Chinese kids songs generally have very simplistic tunes and fairytale-like lyrics. If you went to Chinese school, chances are you were taught to sing these songs at one point or another.

I still remember some of the lyrics decades later. The ones that come first into my mind are Ke Ren Lai, Kan Ba Ba, Ba Ba Bu Zai Jia,...... San Lun Che, Pao De Kuai, Shang Mian Zuo Ge Lao Tai Tai,......and Xiao Zhu Xiao Zhu Fei Du Du, Chi Bao Jiu Shui Hu Lu Lu...

Kids are quite sophisticated these days and seem to be more enchanted with video games than nursery rhymes and almost grow up too quickly. But these kids songs are part of our culture and hopefully, they will continue to be passed down from generation to generation.

Writing down all these kids songs have brought back memories of the good old days when I was a kid. Aaah, those days when there were no bills, work or responsibilities to worry about, when the biggest concern of the day was "who will be or will not be my friend today?"

Don't you wish sometimes that there's a time machine to take us back to the days when we were younger?
